What's New?
So, what's new since this site was first published on 2/14/2004? May 2004: Betty Ann
met me in Sydney and we flew to Cairns for a week in Palm Cove. It's a bloody long flight! July 2004:
We bought property in Bristol, ME. Six and a half acres on which we'll be building and retiring, hopefully in only
a couple years. May 7 2005: (Ken and Betty Ann got married) A few photos in
the Family Album. May 2005: We visited Ireland including Ballyragget, the village where Betty
Ann's grandmother was born. April 2006: We added the adjoining 5 acres to our Bristol Property. Sept 29, 2006: Casey Clair Bittner born (Betty Ann's second granddaughter) July 2008:
We began construction but found it necessary change excavation contractor. Then along came the meltdown in
September and along with it went any chance of selling our home in Sykesville or continuing construction for the time being. Summer 2009: We attended the April 15 tea party in Westminster and in June went to Richmond
for the Glen Beck Comedy Show. Our May adventure was a long weekend in Manhattan. July included our two weeks
in New Harbor and Ken's 46th high school reunion. Our thrid grandchild (Molly Elizabeth) joined us August 15 and September
11 we visited the Capitol along with about a million other "angry mobsters".
Life goes on: Betty Ann's employer invited her to begin the next phase of her career when
she declined a transfer to a building riddled with unrepaired bullet holes in Glen Burnie - turning a 5 minute commute
into well over an hour: about the same as life expectancy. Perhaps there will be a "change"
in 2010 giving us some "hope" of recovery before we're all bankrupt along with our great-grandchildren.
If not, the dream of Bristol will remain a fantasy awhile longer. We're sooooo looking forward to paying those "patriotic
taxes".
