Places Around Home
You Gotta Be Kidding

Here's what news we think might be worth the space.

December
Fall at Gettysburg is over and the Montanna is mothballed for the season.  Molly Elizabeth made her appearance August 15 (our third grandchild).  The Christmas tree goes up this weekend and the shopping starts in earnest.

August
Summer fun is over.  Two wonderful, cold, rainy weeks in New Harbor, daily walks down to the rocks overlooking the surf, four evenings at the Samoset where we began to feel like locals, one 46th high school reunion in Brewer, many visits to our favorite spots around Maine, then home to tall grass and Baltimore heat.

Great memories from here...

It seems all the places we really like are on the water.  But we have to settle for visiting as they're all in hidh rent neighborhoods.

Dates to note:

Memorial Day and 4th of July and October Weekends:
Gettysburg-Site 47
July:
Two Weeks in New Harbor (Erva B. Weeks house)
Ken's 46th high school reunion in Brewer
May:
Spring Adventure.  So far Cairns and Sydney, A week at home after getting married, Damariscotta, England and Ireland, New York.

We haven't yet achieved retirement.  Ken is still a slave to the 9-5 routine with monthly sojourns to either Denver or Dallas.  I've at least told the schedulers to keep my name off the overseas travel list.   When not working, we spend most of out time around home puttering in the gardens or exploring the back roads of Carroll and Frederick counties in the Jeep.

We take the RV (Montanna 5th wheel) to Gettysburg several times a year but since building the deck, it seems way too much trouble to hook up and tow to a site not nearly as nice as our own back yard.  Our most frequent visitors are the grandchildren.

We've kept the Friday "date night" tradition alive but rarely leave Eldersburg.  Lots of new restaurants in the last couple years but Liberatore's gets more of our business than all others combined.  The occasional wedding, graduation, or birthday party serve to complete social calendar.  And we SO LOVE being boring.
