Two Weeks in New Harbor

picturegallery334014.tmp/ErvaWeeks.JPG

Last year we left the Montanna home and rented this cottage in New Harbor.  In addition to giving us back 5 days we used to spend on the road, it reduces our "carbon footprint" by letting Airtran do the driving.  Don't tell Al, I'd rather he think we drove the diesel both ways and left it idling the entire two weeks!!

The Montanna does have TV and cable hookup but it doesn't have the fireplace.

Back Cove is a ten minute walk from the cottage (Erva B. Weeks).  It's easy to get to but hard for us to leave.

4 miles down the road is the tip of the Peninsula and the Pemaquid Lighthouse Park.

The thrill of walking on these rocks above the surf just never seems to fade.  And we hope it never does.

It's been known to get a bit foggy along the coast.  See the two views below.

But we do have to leave if we want to go to the other side of the peninsula to watch the surf on the rocks, the lobster boats, and the gulls.

The occasional lobster boat prowls the waters pulling and re-baiting their traps.
